ExtractNow 4.7.6.0

ExtractNow 4.7.6.0ExtractNow 4.7.6.0. The software category that deals with file compression and archive decompression is almost oversaturated. There are so many choices that deciding between them comes down to finding the one that includes all the features one might need.

If you require a piece of software that performs decompression only we suggest ExtractNow. It extracts files wrapped in a wide range of archive formats, namely: ZIP, RAR, ACE, JAR, ISO, IMG, IMA, IMZ, BIN, LHA, LHZ and SIT. The best thing about it is that it provides the means to batch process archives at an impressive speed, to say the least.

Its interface is plain simple, but this might turn out to be an advantage, at least for beginners. Files can be added via drag and drop or via the right-click menu. If you’re thinking that you’ve seen better, you might want to take a look at the Settings menu, because this is the place that carries the goodies.

Its most interesting features include: allowing multiple instances, history log (so you can track your progress and then export it into a LOG file), as well as automatic extraction of archives at start-up. In addition, you can personalize the destination folder - whether it's in the same directory as the archive or in a specific directory where all archives are extracted.

But the best part comes after the extraction point, when you can set ExtractNow to open destination folder, clear, delete, recycle or move archives to a specific location, close the program (or only if it's successful), delete broken files, and several others.

Other features worth mentioning include the possibility to add an explorer context menu, thus providing an easier method to access the program. Also, you can match archive types and search through them for specific text, as well as extract archives by using a text file list of passwords.

Testing this application turned out to be a treat. We were impressed with its rich options and extracting speed. There's not one bad thing to say here, except for maybe the raw simplicity of the interface.

Features ExtractNow 4.7.6.0

· Simple and intuitive user interface for batch archive extractions
· Supports most major archive formats
· Search through folders recursively for archives
· Use password lists to find the correct password for an archive
· Ability to control what happens after extraction
· Monitor directories for archives and automatically extract them
· Windows Explorer integration through file type assocations and context menus
· Support for advanced customizations through the use of Lua scripting

7-Zip 9.29 Alpha

7-Zip 9.29 Alpha7-Zip 9.29 Alpha. There was a time when computer applications were few and a specific tool was used for each task one wanted to perform, such as image viewing, archiving files or converting videos. Nowadays however, the market has a lot more alternatives for each area, and when it comes to archivers, 7-Zip is definitely an app worth taking into consideration.

Installing it is a simple procedure and it all takes only a few seconds since you have to deal with such a light package. The interface is the same as the ones we’ve seen in other compression tools, but 7-Zip also includes a powerful file manager, so browsing the files stored in archives is really simple.

The tool supports most archive formats out there, including RAR, ZIP, TAR, GZ, LZH, LZA, ARJ and ISO, but it also comes with its very own extension, namely 7z.

All in all, 7-Zip is the compression tool that you need to install if you are not willing to pay for a license for one the other similar apps on the market. It is freeware and works with so many formats that it you are bound to be satisfied with it.

Pismo File Mount Audit Package Build 166

Pismo File Mount Audit Package Build 166Pismo File Mount Audit Package Build 166 was designed to be an easy-to-use application that helps users mount file contents to the system as virtual folders. It can be used to mount ZIP, ISO, Compact ISO, Compact File Set and Private Folder files.

The Pismo File Mount Audit Package (PFMAP) is a utility application that utilizes Pismo File Mount technology to allow users to mount the contents of various types of archive and image files to the file system as read-write or read-only folders.

In addition to being a useful stand-alone application, PFMAP is used in conjunction with the Pismo File Mount Developmenet Kit to integrate Pismo File Mount technology into other applications, or to develop extensions to PFMAP to support new file formats.

Features Pismo File Mount Audit Package Build 166:

ZIP reader:
· Most zip archive files can be mounted as read-only folders to allow access to contents, including the ability to execute contained applications.

CD/DVD image file reader:
· DVD and CD images can be mounted in place as a read-only folder to allow access to contents. ISO, CISO, ISZ, and DAA image formats are supported.

Compact File Set reader:
· CFS files can be mounted in place as read-only folders to allow access to contents, including the ability to execute contained applications.

Private Folders:
· Private Folders can be created and used to store sensitive data files and applications in an encrypted and compressed container file. Private folders are created using a password to generate the encryption key. Once the password is provided at mount time, the protected contents become accessible in place through the file system.

Bandizip 2.07

Bandizip 2.07Bandizip 2.07. is an intuitive and fast archiving application that supports WinZip, 7-Zip, and WinRAR, as well as other archive formats.

Bandizip supports for ZIP, 7Z, RAR, ALZ, EGG, TAR, BH, LZH, GZ, BZ2, ISO, CAB, WIM, XZ, ARJ, and Z archives files and users can create self-extracting files (.EXE) and multi-volume (split) archives files.

Bandizip has very fast Zip algorithm for compression & extraction by "Fast Drag and Drop" and "High Speed Archiving" function.

When you archive multimedia files (AVI, WMV, MP3...) or archived files (ZIP, RAR, 7Z...), you can't get good compression results. These files are hard to compress and sometimes the file size could be bigger than the original one. Bandizip's "High Speed Archiving" function will allow you to compress or bypass the files its own algorithm. It will increase the archiving speed dramatically.

A number of file archiving software extract files to temporary folder, and then it copies the files to the targeted folder. Bandizip's "Fast Drag & Drop" function does not use temporary folder, and it just extracts to the targeted folder directly. It will increase the extraction speed dramatically.

Another advantage of Bandizip is that it supports Unicode system perfectly. Bandizip has "Code Page", and it will allow you to select a language in archive without breaking international characters.

With "Fast Drag & Drop", "High Speed Archiving", and "Code Page" functions, Bandizip might be the sensation in archiving software market.

PeaZip 4.7.1

PeaZip 4.7.1 PeaZip 4.7.1 . is a compression tool that supports several archive formats, including ZIP, 7Z, ARC, self-extracting 7Z and ARC, and TAR.

The user interface of the application is simple to navigate through, thanks to its Explorer-based layout.

All you have to do is select the files or folders you want to archive, and hit the Add button (the drag and drop method is also supported).

In the next step, you have to set the output destination and configure format options. Plus, you can enable PeaZip to open the output path when the task is done, add each object to a separate archive, append timestamp to the archive name, convert existing archives and use the TAR method before compression.

In addition, you can include and exclude filters, add passwords and create a key file, set compression level, method, dictionary, word, passes, solid block, as well as select function (new archive, add, update), threads, the algorithm and others, test the archive etc.

But you can also run a system benchmark or system tools, such as Disk Cleanup, Disk Defrag, Disk Management, Control Panel and Task Manager.

In the Settings menu, you can select mode for backend binaries user interface and PeaLauncher, reset applications, bookmarks and archive history, enable the encoding job definition as UTF-8 text, and more.

The program has some issues when it comes to the context menu. Indeed, you can easily access the archiving tool under the "PeaZip" menu, but some of its functions are also scattered in the "Sent to" menu. Also, remaining time is not accurately displayed during the compression process (sometimes, question marks replace numbers).

Overall, PeaZip uses a low amount of system memory, comes with a well-drawn help file and is simple to work with. We strongly recommend it to all users.

Features PeaZip 4.7.1 :

· Easy to use GUI, supports Drag&Drop and integrates in system's context menu

Express Zip File Compression Software 2.02

Express Zip File Compression Software 2.02Express Zip File Compression Software 2.02. is a software designed to help you compress files and extract content from archives.

The interface of the tool is clean and intuitive. So, you can create a new archive by selecting the files you want to compress.

Unfortunately, you cannot specify the output name and destination every time you create a new archive. Instead, you have to go to "Options" and input the default values there.

In the list you can check out the name, compressed and original size, percentage, path and date of each file that's included in an archive. Extraction is easy - all you have to do is specify the output location.

In addition, you can set the compression level (from fastest to smallest), rename archives and remove files from them, secure your compressed files with a password, split ZIP archives (by size only), and more.

In "Options" you can integrate Express Zip File Compression Software into the Explorer context menu, disable it from prompting when using "QuickZip", select the email sending method (directly or via SMTP server), configure message options (e.g. default reply mail), make file associations, enable to open the folder browser after unzipping, and more.

The software runs on a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, includes a comprehensive help file for beginners, has a very good response time and didn't freeze, crash or pop up errors during our tests.

On the other hand, the features are a little cluttered. Aside from the fact that you have to access "Options" every time you want to change the output location and archive name, the "compression level" feature is placed in the File menu.

All in all, Express Zip File Compression Software doesn't actually come up with something new for a compression tool but we suggest you test it for yourself to see if it fits your preferences.

Features of  Express Zip File Compression Software 2.02:

· Quickly create new zip files
· Edit or extract existing zip files
· Email zip files in two easy clicks
· Quickly zip common folders with the Express menu
· Burn your archives to a CD or DVD for long term backup
· Simple but powerful user interface
